The wedding was just lovely. In so many ways I felt like the mother of the bride. NOT a peaceful position to find yourself in, but I would have had it no other way.
We love our family!

2015
Merry Christmas from the6Stricklands!
We hope this holiday season brings your 2015 year to a perfect end. We’ve had a wonderful year ourselves and thank God for His goodness! We wanted to take some time to share a few things going on with us.
We hope this holiday season brings your 2015 year to a perfect end. We’ve had a wonderful year ourselves and thank God for His goodness! We wanted to take some time to share a few things going on with us.
Joel’s business,
STEADFAST CONSTRUCTION, has been ramping up, and starting in 2016, Joel will go
full time with his business and part time at the church. (Right now he is full
time with his current job at the church and part time with business) This is
exciting and scary at the same time. Please pray for favor over the business
and discernment for Joel as he leads it.
Tressa is
enjoying homeschooling and mentoring other mommas in the trenches. She still
works for Classical Conversations from home and oversees 23 communities full of
families homeschooling. She takes solace in maintaining the Strickland garden
and seeking the beauty of God in every season.
Kayla is now
driving! She has a F150 truck and relishes in her newfound independence. She is
also taking up a career in photography. She started a blog so she can post her
work for all to see. You can view her blog here. She works part
time babysitting. She really enjoys working with kiddos!
Emily has taken
up acting this year. She will be in two performances: The Christmas Pageant in December and Ville Du Havre in the spring. She has also taken up a new hobby -
Archery! She and her dad will be hunting together in January. Emily is also
working for several families babysitting.
Dylan has been
working hard to obtain MEMORY MASTER for his school. He is also enjoying his
Engineering class. He recently created a self-generated wind mill. He has only
shocked himself once. He is super helpful around the house: fixing things, helping the fire stay lit in the fireplace. He is almost as tall as his momma!
Taylor is also
working towards MEMORY MASTER for his school. He finished another season of
soccer. He enjoyed taking a try at goalie. He has also taken up Tin Whistle
recently, being able to play numerous songs. Taylor brings alot of joy to this family. He is a young man who loves to pray. He also takes good care of his momma by bringing her blankets and giving her lots of love.
Lastly, as some
of you may know, we opened our home to a teenage girl back in 2010. God knew
what He was doing when He brought Brittini into our lives. She graduated
highschool and moved out. Shortly after, her mother passed away. It took
Brittini a few years to find her way through life and back to our doorstep. She
is now living in Waco, getting married to a great guy named Troy on Dec.11th.
Joel will be walking her down the aisle, and the kids all have a role in the
wedding. They are also expecting a baby girl in March. We are thrilled!
We would be delighted
to hear how your family is doing. Did you know when you send us a picture of
your family at Christmas, we keep it in a box and pray for you throughout the
year?
We covet your prayers as well. We have had some significant sickness recently. We’ve also had a lot of car trouble. All of this in the midst of life, school, and planning for a wedding. God is good and we thank Him for His goodness over our lives. We hope and pray you experience His goodness over this Christmas season!
Much love,
Joel, Tressa, Kayla, Emily, Dylan, and Taylor.
