Beautiful girls!

The girls were in a wedding over the weekend. These dresses were handmade by the brides mother, and the bottoms were hemmed by our aunt Becca. It was such a joy to be apart of Keith and AnnaBeth's wedding, such a wonderful couple!

"What does that do?"

"What does that do?" is a question I get asked at least every half hour by Dylan!

Kind of cute, but requires lots of explanations! From irons to tractors to lotion to dishwashers. He is like a sponge soaking up all kinds of information!

This is Dylan working my camera while Im not around. I remember taking it from him that day. But I didnt realize he actually took pictures until I uploaded a bunch recently! Im afraid he is just like his daddy! :)

The Mad Dash!!

Today, we were at a wedding rehearsal (both girls are in a wedding this weekend). It was time for the dinner, and I had Dylan sitting at the table with me at my right, and Taylor was strapped in the stroller to my left. Dylan was eating, as I was spoon-feeding Taylor, while Joel and the girls were getting their plates. I kept my eye on Dylan while I fed Taylor. Next thing I know, I look over...and Dylan is GONE!

Quickly I look up and scan the room for him, then out of the corner of my eye- I see him making a mad dash for the exit door. (Mind you, this was at the same place and time the church we were at offers a meal to the homeless) I got up and yelled "Kayla, get over here and sit with Taylor!" then I made a mad dash after him in all my prettiness! He had exited the auditorium and into the foyer by the time I got to him. He had the biggest smile on his face!

Let me just tell you all, I was not a happy smiling mommy. Dylan got a big spanking, and had to walk all the way back to his seat at the table. The wedding party had watched me dash out the room and were wondering if I was okay, so when I returned, everyone had a smirk on their face realizing what had happened.

The moral to this story is....I dont think there is a moral to this story. Just wanted to share with you a glimpse of how Dylan literally "keeps me on my toes"!!!

Our sweet Emmy!!

Today is Emily's 8th birthday!

We are in awe that our girl is growing up! I remember when she was just a baby! She was such a CUDDLE BUNNY!!

Here are som
e pictures I found of Emily. These go back to early 2004. (Thats when we went digital!)

What we love the most about Emily is how she
lives life to the FULLEST!! She does not miss a moment to stop and smell the flowers.

She has always ahuge smile on her face, isnt she beautiful?? She also has the most amazing imagination!!

And my goodness she is the monopoly QUEEN!

Some of Emily's favorite things to do are being with family, MATH, growing and eating strawberries, and playing with all her hundreds of Littlest Pet Shop Animals. Em is also so tenderhearted, especially when it comes to others. She likes to make sure people are well cared for , especially her momma.

God knew what he was doing when He gave us Emily, our family would not be complete without her!

Our Tator-Tot is ONE!!

A year ago today (April 17th) our family was completed when Taylor arrived! I call this picture "The Strickland Inspection".

Who would have known this boy would end up being a blonde hair blue eyed sweetie pie?! Taylor has far exceeded our families expectations with his little personality and cuddles!

And I cannot begin to explain the bond he shares with his big brother.
Without saying a word, they can both give eachother a punch and it seems like a "love you bro" type of gesture.

Here is a list of a few of Taylor's favorite things:
Momma
Pancakes
Cuddling
Peek-a-boo with Dylan
Milk
Climbing up our stairs
Being pushed in his swing by his sister
Riding in his buggy car

Whats so interesting about Taylor, is how much he reminds me of both his big sisters. His looks are comparable to Kayla- light skin-blue eyes, blond hair, and yet his personality reminds me alot of Emily when she was a baby-they share the same type of temperment.

W
e are so thankful God put him as the baby of the 6 Stricklands! Our family is complete!

Happy Birthday Taylor!

This morning.....

....I had all four kids at the grocery store at 7:30 this morning before I dropped the girls off at school. We had forgotten Emily needed to bring 4 oranges and Kayla needed to bring 20 platsic spoons to school today.
As we were heading out of the store, a lady stops me with a smile, and say "Do you run a daycare, or are all these kids yours?"
HA! I smiled, and said "Every single one of them are mine! But we run things like we're in a daycare!"

This is the life of a mom of four!

Wearing the boys OUT!

Recently I found both boys concked out and had to take a picture!

Dylan was having a snack and watching a movie. I realized he was quiet, I peeked at him from the kitchen and realized he was asleep! With the movie playing and his snack next to him!

Later, Kayla was swinging Taylor in the backyard. I peeked out in the yard to see how they were doing and she motioned "look, he's sleeping". I had to grab the camera to take a picture!

An April Update!!

My oh my where has the time gone to? Spring has sprung and we have been busy as bees buuzzin' all over! Here are a few highlights.

I'll start with Kayla. This girl can bounce higher than anyone I know! She is such an amazing big sister. And won for the 3rd time this year an ART award! Woo-hoo!

I'll skip down to Dylan. He has been a busy boy! We bought new sand for the sandbox. Did you know sand comes in colors nowadays? We chose blue and Dylan cant stay out of it! I find lots of blue sand all over the house, and in his underwear!

I also keep finding Dylan on the top of our stairs, only he's on the outside of the stair rail. Dangerous, scary, and funny all at once! Recently, in the car, I made a sharp turn and Dylan said "Eaassy mommy!"

Emily will be 8 on the 24th! She is excited and cant wait to eat a Strawberry cake! (A girl after my own heart!) She is in for a strawberry surprise soon!

She has been such a great helper lately. Her she is hosing down Taylors high chair in the backyard. He is wanting to feed himself these days--and WHAT A MESS!!

Speaking of mess, here is Taylor enjoying some mashed potatoes and some spaghetti.

He is going to be one on the 17th! This year sure has flown by! We have been blogging on this site a year now! Taylor is also enjoying the backyard like everyone else.

Its Spring, and we have been outside alot planting and getting the yard back in shape! We have some strawberries (we are about to eat our first one!)

We are growing some mammoth sunflowers, and we also scattered a bunch of wildflowers including some bluebonnets. We love this time of year. We also have some ladybugs! We buy them at the nursery every year! They are in the fridge, we need to disburse them soon! More pics to come!
