Today's blogger is Lorijo. There are two parts to her posts. Click to read Part 1 or Part 2. In Part 2, she highlighted an organization in Peru. Really cool to hear how this organization is trying to promote justice and the development of the poor and marginalized in Peru.

40 Day Fast: Day Six

Viva Le Dieu (God Lives) by Scott, a man on a mission to Paris France. Read about his post on the people of Paris by clicking here.

Decisions!

Our sweet little one year old made his first outright deliberate choice to NOT obey today by digging in the trash anyway. He got a spanking.

He is a laid back kid, who really doesnt want to cross the boundary lines. But I think today, he just realized he had his own will and decisions he could make.

Ohh it has just begun!!

40 Day Fast: Day Five

Out My Front Door by Autumn, She mentioned an organization I never heard of called Blessings In A Backpack which is combating our nations child hunger problem. To read more about it. click here.

Last night was the big camp out in the backyard! The kids had a blast swimming, bike riding, jumping on the trampoline, digging in the sand, playing on the swingset, roasting marshmellows, and watching a movie in the tent. All in our backyard!! They slept in the tent all night, with good dad/ Uncle Joel is sleeping out with them.

40 Day Fast

Remember last year's 40 Day Fast? Well, it's happening again! And The6Stricklands have the honor of being apart of the fast again this year.

Hosted by Inspired to Action, the 40 Day Fast emphasizes ways we can help our neighbors in need all over the world. Read more about how and why the 40 Day Fast was started by clicking here.

This year's fast is June 23-August 1. (Starting tomorrow) Click here to see the official schedule and who will be fasting what day.

Each day, two bloggers will fast on behalf of specific causes. They will also post about groups that are helping to alleviate the causes of poverty and serve those in need. On the 40th day, we encourage everyone to join in in fasting on behalf of our neighbors in need.

The6Stricklands will fast on day 40, the last day of the fast! We are so excited, and cant wait to step in! Read what we fasted for last year by clicking here.

Join us by fasting yourself, following along with each day's post, or linking to the fast on your blog! We will also provide a link each day here on our blog to each day's post. It's gonna be GOOD!!

FORT DAVIS Part One

We recently went on a very peaceful and enjoyable vacation to the Fort Davis Mountains, which is located in the desert land far West Texas. The land was beautifully rugged- lots of rocks and it was sunny and hot.

We camped out the entire time. We hiked, explored all the wildlife, took enjoyable adventures into the small Fort Davis town, visited the McDonald Observatory, and did alot of sight seeing. We also spent some time swimming in Balmorhea, which is located on the foothills of the Fort Davis mountains. Its like an Oasis in the middle of the desert.

Our camera wasnt taking good pictures- it was messing up. We have more pictures that need to be developed from the kids personal cameras, the underwater camera, and on our Papa's camera- whenever we get them, we will post them! Until then- enjoy these pics from our old camera (which has now officially died- and been replaced with a new camera our mom got for her birthday.)

A family adventure!!

We had so much fun visiting with family over the weekend. We went to celebrate our cousin Christopher's graduation, then we went to Lake Justiceburg. Afterwards we stopped in Abilene to see more family! A great trip but we sure were glad to be home!!

Can we just share with the world how much we love our Aunt Arleen? What a great lady- and we love her dearly!
She took us on the boat and we had a blast!

We did a whole lot of swimming,

and cliff climbing,

cruising the lake-soaking in the sun,

and of course
tubing.

Dont worry, Taylor stayed back with Pawpaw and had a blast!!

Dylan's FIRST flip flops!

Dylan is always wearing everyones flip flops around the house, even the pink ones with flowers. So we decided he was ready for his very own pair. This boy is loving have his own BUZZ LIGHTYEAR flip flops. He can put them on himself- most the time-backwards! Notice the bite mark at the top of his shoe!
