The 1st of many to come!!

We are so excited to see some lovely first blooms and blossoms in our garden!

This was the 1st bloom from our rose bush. The roses are so beautiful and smell so sweet. There are lots more buds about to bloom too!

This is our first bloom from our patch of daffodils..so bright and lovely! There are much more to come-can't wait!!

Our strawberry plants have been flowering like crazy, and lots of fruits are starting to grow. This is the first strawberry to actually turn red- Emily just can't wait to eat off this plant!!

This is ridiculous!

See this wagon full of stuff? Well, all THAT stuff (blankets, soccer balls, shoes, toys, bandaids, mail, deodorant, candy, brushes, backpacks, etc) came out of MY van. Note: the wagon has no trash in it, this is all the bring-back-in-the-house stuff. I filled up 5 walmart bags full of trash!

It's necessary that we excavate all the items left in the car weekly. If we didn't there wouldn't be any floor space to walk in to the van, or even any space to sit. Its chaos when it gets that dirty! Notice, I even had four folding chairs in the van too! Now that the my precious van is cleaned spotless-I almost dont wanna drive it- I just want it to sit and look pretty! We will see how long it takes to get a wagon full again!

"Sweet Jesus, be near!"

"Sweet Jesus, be near" is a quote from a mom of a baby boy who is in the hospital this very minute. I dont know much about her, or her precious family. But I do know this- her baby boy named STELLAN NEEDS PRAYER!

Prayers for Stellan

I believe in the power of prayers, and Im calling on you all out there to please pray.

Check out her blog: http://www.mycharmingkids.net/

6 x 8 = 48

Emily has memorized almost all of her multiplication facts. There are just a few out there that she just can't get into her brain- like 6 x 8 = 48.

So we started using this FUN curriculum (thanks Tiff) as a supplement. Its called "Times Tables The Fun Way" and believe me- its so much FUN! There is a book with a fun story, that has the numbers as characters. Then there is a workbook to exercise your knowledge. Also a coloring page to hit the story home.

We have been doing exercises with a math fact a day (the ones she doesn't have in her brain) on paper. Well now we are using this board. She can use the magnetic characters to play with and do her exercises in a fun way, instead of on paper.
Thank you Lord for FUN resources to help our children!

MY parents!!!

I think I have the coolest parents in the world.

Seriously!

My dad is such a good looking man, so generous to us, and I admire that he still loves to plays soccer. He is a good PawPaw!
My mom is a super chic- with cool spiky hair, I really think she is more hip than I will ever be, I admire her in so many ways. She is a cool Nana!
They both love their children and grandchildren and would do anything for any of us. We love to go visit "Hotel Pawpaw & Nana", their new home is absolutely amazing and peaceful.

Well, we went to spend some time with them this weekend and I had to take a picture of this. Recently, my parents both got the same car! A really cool car- a Pontiac G8.

I have to tell the story, Dad brought the car home and tried to talk Mom into buying it, she didnt want it so he traded his car in and bought it. She decided she wanted one just like it when she realized the car started with a push of a button. She was also sold when she took it out and got it up to 138 in no time. They both like a powerful car!

Aren't they so cute with their matching cars?

Tea Party

The girls attended the "Mother And Me" tea party at Highland before the Spring Break. It was lovely. They dressed up, sipped yummy tea, ate adorable cookies, and drank out of REAL tea cups and saucers! Everything a girl could ever dream of!

D.J. the viewmaster!!

This is one of D.J.'s favorite things to do lately. Im just glad he is being entertained while we homeschool!

New additions...

Meet Kally & Sally, our two new family members!!

Kally

Sally

These are guinea pigs, they aren't from Guinea and they aren't pigs, they are domesticated rodents. :)

We have been wanting to expand our home, tried rabbits and had to return the same day due to our momma's allergies. We tested her allergies with the guinea pigs and she isn't allergic!

We set up a nice new home for them and they are adjusting just nicely.

D.J.

Dylan has a new nickname- DJ for Dylan James- because he is too cool. We just love this boy and his colorful personality.

These are his new rubber boots. And he loves them- maybe because they are McQueen boots, maybe because he can put them on by himself, or maybe because he can splash in mud and water all day without getting wet! Whatever the case- its pretty darn cute!!

Backyard fun

We have been in the backyard for the past two days- its been SO beautiful outside. We saved up for the supplies to put up an awning over our backyard porch. And this was the weekend to do it!

We are just amazed at all the carpenter work our dad can do. We will enjoy the awning for many many years!

Dylan and Taylor wanted to "help" the whole time.
