Yesterday after climbing in the tree, she got bark in her eye- which led to her falling out of the tree suffering some scratches and bruises. Since then, her eye has been really out of whack, swollen and red.
The doctor's findings were a corneal abrasion. The cornea is an amazing feature to the eye. It acts as a shield to to eye, see picture below.
So Emily gets to sport an eye patch for a couple of days and will endure eye drops 4 times a day for a complete healing.

Poor Emily. She def. looks proud of that eye patch, about as proud as David was of his patch. Aren't kids funny. Hope she is feeling better soon.

Emily is a very good and patient person. She did not complain once about having the patch on her eye. She took all in stride
