DC: Day Four

WE ARE ALL WORN OUT!!

We have done lots of walking, Joel brought his GPS along with us today, and we averaged about 6 miles.

We split up on our adventures today, and Joel and the three kids went to the Air and Space Museum, while mom and I went to the Eastern Market with the Taylor.

Some of the highlights of the museum were the Wright Brothers planes and bicycles, and all the Amelia Earhart exhibits.

The market was so much fun to be able to get a taste of the locals. We bought a few random things like $3 boots for the boys and mom got a silver tea set.

We all met up after lunch to visit the World War II memorial. It was breathtaking. Later we walked on to the Teddy Roosevelt memorial, it was a painful walk- but well worth it.

On the way back, we stopped in Arlington Virginia- such a cute town. We got distracted by a demolition in progress, it was really cool to watch.

We hopped onto the Metro- our faithful transportation and headed home for dinner, baths and BED!

Tomorrow we are taking a road trip to Colonial Williamsburg to experience life in the good ole days.

FACT OF THE DAY:
Did you know Teddy Bears came from Teddy Roosevelt? He went bear hunting for sometime, and didnt catch anything. His aids found an old bear and tied it up to a tree for Roosevelt to shoot. Teddy felt sorry for it, and didnt want to shoot it. Which prompted a newspaper to draw a cartoon, it was published nationwide, and inspired the creation of the "Teddy Bear". Interesting huh??
