DC: Day Two

We woke up to a beautiful Fall morning here in Columbia, Maryland (the town we're staying in), enjoyed a homemade breakfast then got dressed and headed out for a fun-long day.

We got our tickets to ride the METRO- the pubic transportation, which will be our main source of transoprtation while we are here. It was soo much fun! We would hop on one line, then hop onto another. Reminds me of my TUBE experience in London.

We basically spent most of the day in Washington DC, we visited the Washington, Jefferson, Roosevelt, and Lincoln Memorial. We also saw the Wall, and the White House.

Tomorrow- the Smithsonian Museums!

Word of the day: sandwich
Why? Because we taught our kids a new concept called the "sandwich". One adult is a slice of bread (the adult leading the pack- no one passes the bread) and another adult is the other slice of bread (the adult in the back, everyone should be in front of the bread). That way, everyone in the middle can be the peanut butter, or jelly, or cheese, or ham..its a fun way for all the kiddos to stay safe in between and pretend at the same time.

Wow!!! Sounds like lots of fun! I imagine everyone is tired at the end of the day from all the activity.

I bet Dylan and Taylor are in "transportation heaven" with all the metro riding. The girls probably are excited to see the places they have been reading about.

You all are greatly missed; but we are excited that you have this family opportunity! Love ya!
